Irene Rosenfeld, CEO of Kraft Foods International

Irene Rosenfeld has been busy for almost three years running Kraft, America’s largest food company, and successfully steering the $42 billion (revenues) company through the downturn. She recently helped steer the company into a second-quarter earnings report that beat expectations.
In an interview with Forbes, Rosenfeld addressed how strength of Kraft employees has been key to success. She stated, “In the course of my first year, I changed over half of the top two levels of management. Some of them were new to Kraft; some of them were new to their positions. It was necessary to do this in an effort to jump-start the organization and put the employees on a new growth trajectory.” As for bringing more women into leading positions, she said, “I can’t comment on whether we will see more women, but I certainly believe that there is enough evidence that increased diversity of leaders can be quite successful in delivering on shareholder value, and I feel good about the evidence and the progress that has been made there.”
