Women’s Empowerment and Advancement at Deloitte
Deloitte’s award-winning Women’s Initiative (WIN) has been recognised for innovative, effective and measurable initiatives to advance women in the workplace. ‘Living the Lattice’ represents the innovation of Deloitte’s WIN programme, and includes Mass Career Customization, a model that enables all Deloitte professionals to dial up and dial down their careers to fit their needs at various life stages. WIN also incorporates male involvement in their initiatives through ‘Women as Buyers’, a workshop to help men at Deloitte build stronger relationships with women clients and colleagues by better understanding their work and communication styles.
In addition, Deloitte has contributed to the ‘Women’s Empowerment Principles: Equality Means Business’ (WEPs), a set of Principles for businesses offering guidance on how to empower women in the workplace, marketplace and community. They are the result of collaboration between the United Nations Development Fund for Women (UNIFEM) and the United Nations Global Compact. The Principles emphasize the business case for corporate action to promote gender equality and women’s empowerment and are informed by real-life business practices and input gathered from across the globe.
